As a courtesy to our office we ask that you please notify us with any of the following:

1) Address changes

Please let our office know if you are moving.  Correct addresses help us maintain a good standing with our customers.  This will ensure that you receive any billings, assessment notices, and important information to up coming events.

2) Garbage Pick Up

Town of Dominion City has garbage pick up every Wednesday.  Please note that pick up is for only "House Hold" garbage only.  Place bags at the end of your drive-way. 

3) Recycling Program

Recycle pick-up is every other Thrusday for the town of Dominion City.  There is no charge for curbside pick-up within town limits.  For all other residents of the RM of Franklin wishing to recycle you may go to the Transfer Station and use the drop bins there. A schedule for pick-up dates can be picked up at the RM office.

The following materials accepted in our recycling program are:

Aluminum beverage cans - tin cans. Please RINSE and remove labels and flatten if possible.

Plastics - #1 soft drink bottles, #2 milk jugs, ice cream pails, margarine, yogurt, pill, shampoo, liquid laundry detergent containers, #4, #5, #7 margarine, ketchup and shampoo containers. Please remove all caps and RINSE containers.

Paper - All newspapers, flyers, books, magazines, office paper and phone books.

Cardboard - All cardboard (please flatten), Milk cartons (please empty, RINSE, and flatten), Tetra-Pak juice boxes (please empty, RINSE, and flatten).

Glass and Jars - Whole bottles and jars only, please RINSE and remove all caps.  NO BROKEN GLASS.

PLEASE PLACE ALL YOUR RECYCLABLES IN CLEAR OR BLUE GARBAGE BAGS IF POSSIBLE - NO SORTING REQUIRED.

We DO NOT recycle the following: styrofoam (including egg containers), used paper plates & napkins, tissues, diapers, or food scraps.

We DO NOT recycle the following plastic: #3, #6, all plastic bags, motor oil container or any containers that carry (scull & cross bones) symbol.

TO PREVENT STAFF INJURIES, PLEASE KEEP RECYCLING BAGS AT A MAXIMUM WEIGHT OF 20 LBS.

4) Water 

Please note that if you are a resident of the town of Dominion City that you are required to read and report a water meter reading every three months.  It is important for you to give us a meter reading because if it is not read we will generate an estimate reading for you.  This may result in a high balance for you to pay.  If you are moving out of town we ask that you give us a final reading before you leave.  If you are new to town we ask that you read your meter when you move in as we will have to set up a water account for you.  We do apply penalty to all unpaid water bills. 

5) Transfer Station

Please note that the transfer station is available to residents of the Municipality of Franklin only.  No outside dumping is allowed.  Hours of operation are as follows for the summer: Mondays 7am - 8pm, Wednesdays 8am - 8pm, Saturdays 9am - 4pm.  Winter hours: Monday 8am - 5pm, Wednesday 8am - 5pm, Saturdays.  There is a small fee for items such as fridges, freezers and air conditioners.  If these items are dumped without being tagged there is a fee of $20.00 made payable to transfer station attendant.  If these items have been emptied of freeon there is no charge dumping.
